Applied Psychology, Social Work & Community Development
Established in 1997, SACAP (the South African College of Applied Psychology) is an independent provider of accredited Applied Psychology courses with campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online.
All of SACAP’s qualifications are accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) and registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
We have accredited qualifications that include a Higher Certificate and a range of diplomas, undergraduate degrees and postgraduate programmes. So, whether you simply want to test the waters with a short course or take your skills to the next academic level, SACAP has an option for you.
What’s more, our four-year BPsych degree and our BPsych Equivalent Programme are both professionally endorsed by the Health Professions Council of South Africa and lead to the professional registration of Registered Counsellor.
Our Bachelor of Social Work is registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions and leads to the professional registration of Social Worker.
Our continued registration and accreditation status ensures that students are exposed to programmes that are academically sound, nationally benchmarked and internationally comparable.
SACAP is a highly successful niche private higher education institution, which uses the practical, interdisciplinary application of Psychology to positively impact people-centred settings. Our roots are firmly grounded within the field of Psychology and in particular, the applications thereof. We believe the value of Psychology is not limited to the traditional mental healthcare sector and has value and application across multiple people-centred disciplines and settings.
SACAP therefore educates students within high-impact people-centred disciplines such as Psychology, Management and Leadership, Social Work and Education. We believe that through a transformative educational journey, we are producing graduates who are responsive to the needs of society and are able to apply their knowledge and skills to bring about positive transformation across different areas within our society.
