“Umuntu Ngumuntu Ngabantu” defines TUT’s moral purpose as a people’s university that empowers our communities and transforms our society through meaningful and impactful engagement.
Tut was formed in 2004 following the merger of three technikons. Our merger aimed at redressing the inequalities of the past by providing access to all our communities and an academic home for all our students.
We advance social and economic transformation through relevant curricula, impactful research and engagement, quality learning experiences, dedicated staff and an enabling environment.
We will always act honestly, ethically and professionally, we will treat everyone with dignity and respect and green out environment. We embrace diversity, foster inclusivity and promote equality. We will constantly innovate, solve problems and aim to improve ourselves and others.
We are answerable to each other and will act in the best interest of the university and all times. Come join us, lets be a family.
